Museum Summer Camps – Open for registration!

Adventures in History offers children interested in history the opportunity
to experience life in the South Platte Valley in the 19th century. Participants learn about the life of a typical farm family in 1860s Colorado through a variety of hands-on activities carried out on the museum’s 1860s pioneer farm. In past years, children have enjoyed blacksmithing, crafts, cooking, and games.

  • June 3–7, July 8–12, and Aug. 5–9
  • 4th, 5th or 6th grade in the fall of 2019
  • Full-day sessions 9-4
  • Cost is $200 and members of the Friends receive a 10% discount

Young Pioneers is an abbreviated version of the Adventures in History camp. Participants learn about the life of Colorado pioneers in the 1860s. Activities include crafts, games, cooking, and other fun and educational activities.

  • June 25-28 and July 23-26
  • Half-day sessions 9-noon and 1-4pm
  • 2nd & 3rd grade fall 2019
  • Cost for this camp is $100 and members of the Friends receive a 10% discount

Critters and Crafts is a fun and educational where each day of camp kids meet a new farm animal, learn a craft and enjoy story time.

  • June 18–21 and July 16–19
  • Kindergarten and 1st grade in the fall of 2019
  • Half-day sessions 9-noon and 1-4
  • Cost for this camp is $100 and members of the Friends receive a 10% discount
